Keane Emerging as Strong Favourite Wednesday, 22nd Apr 2009 19:57 Former Sunderland boss Roy Keane has emerged as a strong favourite for the Town manager's job in the hours since the club announced Jim Magilton's sacking. A current Town player told a source close to TWTD that Keane is the man the squad believe is set to replace Magilton, while the Irishman's odds have been slashed to 2/7. Alan Pardew, Alan Curbishley and Neil Warnock are the other three names being widely mentioned with chief executive Simon Clegg revealing this afternoon that the club are close to completing a move for their new boss. Magilton and assistant boss John Gorman left the club earlier today with head of football development Bryan Klug standing in as caretaker-manager.
