Reserves Thrash Leyton Orient Tuesday, 28th Apr 2009 16:05 Town's reserves ran out comfortable 5-0 winners at Leyton Orient this afternoon. Connor Wickham and Dean Bowditch netted two each with Ronan Murray grabbing the fifth. Wickham and Bowditch combined well throughout with the youngster scoring the game's opener on 19. Bowditch scored two more before the break in a half completely dominated by the Blues. It could have been worse for the home side with Reggie Lambe hitting the woodwork and having a shot cleared off the line and Bowditch and Wickham both having goals ruled out for offside. The game lost its intensity in the second half with Town adding only two more goals to their total. Wickham grabbed his second of the game three minutes after the break and sub Murray completed the rout on 75. It was a fine overall display from the Blues with Bowditch and Wickham both impressive up front, while Luke Hyam, Ed Upson and Reggie Lambe did well in midfield. Trialist Troy Brown had another good game at centre-half. The 18-year-old Welsh U17 and U19 international, released by Fulham, was strong in the air and formed a formidable central defensive pairing with Tommy Smith. Despite the scoreline, keeper Bartosz Bialkowski made one or two decent saves in what was an impressive performance from Chris Kiwomya's men, who now sit fifth in the Football Combination East Division with one game to play. Reserves: Bialkowski, Casement, Smith (Ainsley 79), Brown, Dunbar, Hyam (Cawley 77), Lambe, Upson, Daniels, Bowditch (Murray 61), Wickham. Unused: Griffiths, Eastman.
