Trotter Set for Play-Offs Wednesday, 29th Apr 2009 09:16 On-loan midfielder Liam Trotter is on course for an appearance in the League One play-offs with his Scunthorpe side going to sixth after last night's 3-0 victory over Cheltenham. Trotter missed last night's game with a virus, but has been involved in the Iron's starting line-up more regularly in recent weeks after a slow start to his time at Glanford Park. Scunthorpe play seventh-placed Tranmere on Saturday knowing that a draw will be enough to confirm their top six finish. Meanwhile, at Trotter's former loan club Grimsby, former Town schoolboy Ryan Bennett has made a clean sweep of the Mariners' end of season awards, picking up 14 gongs, including both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year. Bennett, a 19-year-old central defender, was released by the Blues at 16, the club citing his poor attitude as the reason for him not being given an academy scholarship. Since then Bennett has impressed with the League Two side, has captained the team on occasions and has represented England at U18 level. Elsewhere, Coventry will have striker Leon Best available after injury for Sunday's end of season game at Portman Road. The Sky Blues will also have midfielder Guillaume Beuzelin back after illness. Striker Clinton Morrison has a knee injury but is expected to play, while midfielder Kevin Thornton will be out with a shoulder problem picked up in training. Defender Danny Fox is suspended. Former Blue Andy Marshall is a big doubt with a back injury. The keeper had been lined up to make his final appearance for the Sky Blues with manager Chris Coleman deciding not to offer the 34-year-old a new deal when his current contract is up at the end of the season.
