Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia has launched an attack on Town boss Roy Keane for his recent comments on his time with the Black Cats. Meanwhile, Keane's extensive interview on Irish TV's The Late Late Show is available online.

At last week's press conference introducing him at Town, Keane said that his departure from the Stadium of Light last December was due to increasing interference from new Black Cats shareholder Ellis Short.

Sbragia, who worked under Keane during his time at the Stadium of Light before taking over after the new Blues boss's departure, is unhappy at what he sees as unnecessary comment from the Irishman: "Why doesn't he talk about Ipswich? Why is he always talking about Sunderland? That's what I don't understand.

"Roy Keane has left Sunderland. He's not here, we don't talk about him, don't discuss him, but for some reason he keeps coming back. I don't know why. Maybe he still thinks he's the manager, I don't know. I know I wouldn't go and criticise Ipswich. Maybe he's just bored and has nothing to do, so he thinks, ‘I know, I will have a go at Sunderland'.

"Why did he leave? Why do I think he left? He knows the exact reason he left and I wouldn't want to say what I know about what he said and what he did. I won't go into that.

"It's up to Roy what he wants to do, but I think he should just concentrate on Ipswich. He's back in football and he should enjoy it.”

Keane himself spoke yesterday about some of the newspaper stories which appeared in the press in the wake of last week's press conference which he felt were an unfair reflection of what he actually said: "There always seems to be silly headlines wherever I go.

"I spoke to the media last week and the next few days I was criticising everybody under sun which was not the case, but I take it with a pinch of salt.

"Maybe over the next few years I'll try and keep my press conferences at Ipswich nice and steady. But I can't worry too much if people want to write silly headlines.

"I just need to focus on the team and make sure we are in the Premier League next year.

"If people want to write headlines then I just need to rise above it and take it with a pinch of salt."

Keane has also spoken out in favour of the plan to make Croke Park, the Gaelic Athletic Association's (GAA) stadium, carbon neutral: "Everybody has a duty to help save energy and Croke Park has shown great leadership on this issue.

"It's an example of how supporters who are passionate about sport can bring that commitment to ensuring a cleaner environment for all of us."

Town launched a similar initiative aimed at making the club carbon neutral during Eon's time as sponsors.
