![]() Saturday, 2nd May 2009 15:24 Town have already managed one victory over Coventry City this weekend with the U18s defeating the Sky Blues 2-0 at the Alan Higgs Sports Centre on Saturday morning. Reggie Lambe netted the first and Luke Hyam sealed the points with a 35-yard screamer. Lambe put the Blues in front in the sixth minute, neatly slotting the ball home after being put through by Jamie Griffiths. Griffiths had the ball in the net himself in the 17th minute but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the Coventry keeper. Six minutes later, the midfielder was again unlucky when his shot was cleared off the line. Town got the second goal their domination deserved on the half hour when Luke Hyam struck a 35-yard bullet. Judging by his celebrations, the Town man was as surprised as the Coventry keeper. The second half was a more evenly contested affair, but Lambe, Ronan Murray and Seb Dunbar all had chances to increase the scoreline. A comfortable victory for Town with the Blues playing lots of neat passing football. U18s: McLoughlin, Meekings, Dinbar, Hyam, Ainsley, Eastman, Daniels (Clemo 80), Cawley, Murray, Lambe, Griffiths (Watson 64). Thanks to Mick Diver for the report.
