Town Release Seven

Town have announced the release of Ivan Campo, Tommy Miller, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement, Jai Reason and Kurt Robinson. The seven are amongst 13 players who are out of contract at the end of June.

Boss Roy Keane has confirmed that talks are now ongoing with Alex Bruce, Shane Supple and Ed Upson regarding extending their Portman Road stays. There is as yet no word on Matt Richards, Liam Trotter, who is currently on loan at Scunthorpe, and Dan Harding, who is with Reading on a similar basis.

There is little surprise that Campo and Miller are on their way with the duo telling a number of people that they had been released at the Players' Awards Evening on Sunday. Miller, who was apparently initially told he was leaving by former boss Jim Magilton, has held talks with a number of Championship clubs with TWTD reporting on Tuesday that Sheffield Wednesday are in the box seat for his signature.

Casement's former loan club Wycombe have previously said they would be interested in signing the Northern Irish B and U21 international, while Cambridge are keen on taking Jai Reason, who is currently on loan at the Abbey Stadium, on a permanent basis in the summer, although league clubs including Hartlepool are watching the midfielder.

Left-back Kurt Robinson looks set to join Rushden and Diamonds, where he was on loan during the second half of the season.

Bruce appears likely to be offered new terms, having turned down a contract in January, while Upson has received a reprieve, having been told his Town career was over by ex-manager Magilton.
