![]() Monday, 4th Jun 2001 13:35 Reports this afternoon say Matt Holland has been named as captain of Ireland for their game with Estonia on Wednesday. The Town skipper takes Roy Keane's place both in the side and with the armband after the Manchester United player was booked in the Portugal game on Saturday. Mick McCarthy said: "I can't do anything about Roy not coming with us to Estonia. We've got Matty Holland to come in and he's never let us down and Mark Kinsella is fit." Martijn Reuser has also denied any interest in a move to PSV, as reported in some newspapers at the weekend. George Burley earlier denied any approach from the Dutch side. Reuser said: "I’m not going anywhere. The last thing on my mind is moving to another club. I am happy with Ipswich and want to stay. The first I heard about this was when a journalist from Holland rang me and said there was a report about me and PSV in an English paper. There is nothing more to it than that, so what can I say? I have not even bothered to contact my agent, because I am not interested in finding a new club. I like it at Ipswich and I don’t want to leave. We had a magnificent season in the Premiership, we will be playing in the UEFA Cup and I am looking forward to next season already." The Dutchman was one of the stars of the second half of Town's season and seems very enthusiastic about Town's prospects: "I want to be a part of what we are building at Ipswich. It is very special and exciting." Too right.
