![]() Friday, 5th Jun 2009 10:15 Chief executive Simon Clegg says the club could consider switching away fans to the other end of the Cobbold Stand. Town supporters have long called for the move, which it is generally felt will enhance the ground's atmosphere. Clegg said: "If that can impact on what happens on the pitch then I want to look at it and see if it can be done. "It is about winning football matches. If we can get that 12th man and get that extra yard for a player through the supporters it is an effort worth making.†Away fans have occupied both ends of the Cobbold Stand on a number of occasions in the past when the capacity of the usual visitors' section hasn't met competition requirements. The police, however, have preferred away supporers utilising the south end of the stand nearest the station. Meanwhile, Manchester United trio Frazier Campbell, Darron Gibson and Danny Simpson are the latest players being linked with the Blues. All three were reported to have been told they can find other clubs by Sir Alex Ferguson earlier in the week. The United manager is said to want to raise £10 million by selling them. Full-back Simpson, who spent time on loan with the Blues in 2007/08, is already being linked with a £1 million move to Birmingham or Newcastle, Gibson with Wolves, where he previously spent time on loan, and Campbell with a £5 million switch to Hull.
