![]() Sunday, 7th Jun 2009 09:44 Chris Casement‘s debut for the senior Northern Ireland side ended in a 3-0 friendly defeat to Italy in Pisa on Saturday evening. Elsewhere, Velice Shumulikoski was in the Macedonia team which drew 0-0 with Norway in Skopje. Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington was impressed with how his young side performed and had praise for the Town man: "There was a lot of good stuff. "It's a great experience and I think overall the best way to sum it up is to say that nobody got embarrassed by the situation. "The players have enjoyed it. We have gained a lot from it, and I have certainly gained a lot from it. "I thought Coates and Casement were exceptional at the back, Damien Johnson was outstanding and then there were a lot of solid performances. "Young Corry Evans did extremely well, Andy Little worked very hard. There were a lot of pluses. You could name anybody here." Casement, 21, was told his Town career was up at the end of the season and seems likely to join former loan club Wycombe Wanderers, although Gillingham have also been claimed to be interested. Shumulikoski started for Macedonia but was replaced with a striker after 64 minutes as his side went chasing a win.
