Town Set for Friendly at Chelmsford Tuesday, 16th Jun 2009 10:30 Town are close to confirming a friendly at Chelmsford City on Wednesday 29th July. The clubs have provisionally agreed to play the game at the Blue Square South side's Melbourne Stadium. The Blues are likely to field a reserve side against the team managed by former Town midfielder Glenn Pennyfather with the first team in action at Charlton the previous evening. Town's reserves have drawn 2-2 with the Essex side in successive pre-seasons. Last year Billy Clarke and Dean Bowditch scored the Town goals, while a year earlier Andy Duncan scored an own goal and Sammy Moore netted a last minute equaliser. Former Blues academy full-back Erkan Okay is a current member of the Chelmsford squad. More on Town's pre-season matches here.
