Former Town chairman David Sheepshanks has been re-elected to the Football League board at the end of his previous term. Sheepshanks left his role as chairman at Portman Road recently but still continues as a member of the board.

Lord Mawhinney, the Football League's chairman, said Sheepshanks's appointment for another three-year term will be good for clubs and fans alike: "I congratulate David Sheepshanks on his re-election and [Derby County's] Adam Pearson on his election to the board for the second time.

"They will unquestionably help the rest of the board to continue to protect the interests of all our clubs and fans.”

Also on the board are Terry Robinson (Sheffield United), Peter Powell (Colchester United), Lorraine Rogers (Tranmere Rovers) and Tony Kleanthous (Barnet), as well as independent non-executive director Ian Ritchie and Mawhinney. Sheepshanks is a Football League representative on the FA board.
