The identity of George Burley's targeted midfielder still remains a mystery, although most of the names we have become used to got a mention in the papers over the weekend. Hassan Kachloul is emerging as a firm favourite, especially with Southampton being reported as signing Anders Svensson from Elfsborg in Sweden.

Marc Nygaard is now being linked to Charlton with a number of earlier reports that he was lined up to join Town seemingly wrong. George Burley had already denied any interest in the player anyway.

Also linked over the weekend was AB Copenhagen's Martin Albrechtson. Reports this morning indicate that Town are not interested in him either.

PSV have been lined up as Town's pre-season opponents instead of Parma. The Italians pulled out as they will have to play a Champions' League game just a few days later.

The PSV game will be confirmed over the next few days and will take place on August 4th.
