![]() Monday, 20th Jul 2009 09:10 Town, Fulham and Watford are all set for talks with West Brom defender Carl Hoefkens, according to reports in the Belgian press. Hoefkens is out of contract after two years at the Hawthorns. The 30-year-old has spoken to former clubs Germinal Beerschot and Lierse back in Belgium but it appears more likely that the right-back or centre-half will remain in England with the Blues, Fulham and Watford all interested. Capped 22 times by Belgium, scoring once, Hoefkens was previously linked with Town in November 2008. Hoefkens started his career in his with hometown side Lierse, subsequently playing for Lommel, Westerlo and Germinal Beerschot before moving to England and joining Stoke City in 2005. The 6ft 1in tall defender made 93 starts and three sub appearances for the Potters, scoring five goals, prior to making a £750,000 switch to West Brom in the summer of 2007. A regular in West Brom's Championship-winning side in 2007/08, Hoefkens was largely out of the picture last season, making only 15 appearances. Overall for West Brom Hoefkens has started 57 games, made five sub appearances and has scored one goal.
