Lisbie Nets Twice as U's Destroy Canaries
Lisbie Nets Twice as U's Destroy Canaries
Saturday, 8th Aug 2009 17:16

On-loan Town striker Kevin Lisbie netted twice on his return to Colchester United as the U's demolished Norwich City 7-1 at Carrow Road to send the Canaries to second-bottom of League One. Lisbie rejoined his former club on loan for the season earlier in the week.

It was a good day for ex-Town strikers with Jordan Rhodes and Dean Bowditch both scoring debut goals for the new clubs. Bowditch's Yeovil, who also featured George O'Callaghan, beat Tranmere 2-0, while Rhodes came off the bench to net the equaliser for Huddersfield in a 2-2 draw at Southend.

Jon Macken scored for Barnsley in a 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday and Alan Lee netted for Crystal Palace in a 1-1 draw at home to Plymouth.

For all you muppets STILL going on about JM, perhaps Div 1 is Lisbes standard ever think of that? Get over JM and just enjoy the day.

I'm with you asamink. They were relegated already! But go ahead, enjoy your gloating. When things go bad you'll probably be the first to complain.

Pleased for Lisbie... however i do agree with WickedBlue above, Lisbie is at the level he is best at, it was a gamble when JM signed him which didn't work out, every manager in the game is entitled to that mistake. So to echo WickedBlue's comment lets leave JM alone and wish him well at QPR (not too well), who can forget the play off final against bolton in 2000, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have reached the prem and had our greatest season in years!

Could not believe my eyes looking at the sport pages, thank you Colchester. This has brightened up my day after the horrors up at Headingley...

Come on Town, let's do the business tomorrow! Can't wait!

Was hugely unimpressed when Lisbie arrived and I'm glad he's gone. But what could be better than one of our players helping to send the Budgies to an utterly humiliating defeat?

Hilarious result today (yesterday now actually...)

Let's hope Ipswich can do the bizz today at the Ricoh. I predict 3-0 to the Town - Lee Martin first to score
