The auctions for the first of the commemorative shirts worn by Town’s players during the Newcastle United game close later today. The shirts worn by Pablo Couñago, Richard Wright and Lee Martin have all attracted bids of more than £1,000.

Couñago’s shirt leads the way with the highest bid currently £1,495, while Wright’s is at £1,070 and Martin’s £1,040. Bidding closes at just before 6pm this evening.

The shirts have been signed on the back and the front by the player, while the club are also providing a certificate of authenticity.

All the shirts worn on the day will be auctioned, along with some second shirts prepared for the game and some which are unnamed and unnumbered. These will be signed by the whole squad. Newcastle are also auctioning their shirts from the game.
