Arsenal have called a noon press conference at which they are expected to reveal Richard Wright as their new signing. George Burley said yesterday that terms had been agreed between Wright and Arsenal and that a medical was all that was standing in the way of the transfer.

The fee for Wright is not known with figures of £5 million and £6 million widely quoted. Stories circulating locally suggest that Town may well get less than that for the player touted as England's next keeper.

Previous Town players to join Arsenal included Paul Mariner, Brian Talbot and Chris Kiwomya.
