Trio Win Caps Saturday, 14th Nov 2009 22:36 Tamás Priskin, Jaime Peters and Owen Garvan all won caps on Saturday but none were on the winning side. Priskin came on as a half-time sub as his Hungary side lost 3-0 in a friendly in Belgium. Priskin picked up his 24th full cap. Jaime Peters won his 20th full Canada cap as a sub in his side’s 3-0 friendly defeat to a Macedonia side including former Blue Veliche Shumulikoski in Strumica. The Canadians take on Poland in Bydgoszcz on Wednesday. Owen Garvan skippered the Irish U21s to the fourth successive 1-1 draw of their European campaign in Georgia and picked up a late yellow card. Garvan has now won 14 caps at U21 level. Ireland’s U21s face Armenia away on Tuesday. Loanee Asmir Begovic was an unused sub as Bosnia lost 1-0 to Portugal in the first leg of their World Cup play-off, while fellow keeper Brian Murphy, who will join the Blues in January, was an unused member of the Irish squad as they lost their play-off first leg with France by the same scoreline. Both second legs are on Wednesday. Gareth McAuley was withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad which lost 1-0 to Serbia in a friendly due to his thigh injury.
