Murphy Out for a Fortnight Tuesday, 12th Jan 2010 14:23
New Town keeper Brian Murphy will be out for two weeks due to the ankle ligament injury he suffered in the warm-up at Leicester City on Sunday. There had been concerns that the Irishman would be out for longer.
Boss Roy Keane told the club site: "We're hoping Brian will be fit again in two weeks or so.
"We've been unlucky with keepers but I did fear it could have been longer so we'll sit tight and wait for Brian to return.
"It puts us back in the same scenario as before he arrived, with Arran and young Ian [McLoughlin] and we will stay with that until Brian is back."
Richard Wright is out until the end of March with knee ligament damage.
Meanwhile, reports claim midfielder Colin Healy has completed his half-season loan move to Falkirk, although neither club has confirmed the switch. Livingstone are reported to have been amongst the other clubs to have been chasing the Irishman.

Could have been much worse, L-B to stay where he is is no bad thing anyway, sound young keeper who should mature with age & games.

Sounded like it could be the whole season after the Leicester game so this is a bonus. Pray that lee-barrett stays fit.

Lee-Barrett deserves to keep his place, has done very little if anything wrong. Good keeper.

Lee-Barret has been good since he stepped in and has made some quality saves. On another note ive heard that Micheal Chorpa could be coming to us for 1.5 million plus Jon Stead. I cant see it happening but we can always hope.

Well, good news really. In answer to blueherts question there's apprently complicated compensation negotiations going on with his previous clubs, so assuming all parties can come to arrangements he should be signing for us soon. As for the above post, Chopra would be a great signing but not sure I want to see Steady moving in the other direction, he's not been exactly prolific, but he's the only striker we have at the moment who's been putting the ball in the back of the net.

These footballers need to man-up and stop being so injury prone. Its a Joke. Lee-Barrett looks out of his depth, am I the only one who thinks this?

i think lee-barrett has been fantastic for ipswich since coming in, he is an inexperienced keeper and yet, has barely put a foot wrong and produced some assured performances and eye-catching saves, in particular against leicester on sunday. hope murphy isnt out for too long as would be great to get is town career up and running, having three very talented keepers on the books can only be a good thing. more evidence of the good work keane is doing at ipswich - come on you blues!

This Keeper thing is going mad, when I first started watching town you would never consider having so many different ones in 1 season, although - Craig Forrest, Clive Baker, Fred Barber I suppose was an odd year

Lee-Barrett has been brilliant and he deserves to keep his place and at the moment i would keep playing him whilst he is in this form even if Murphy was fit. Sign him up Keano!

elburro3... bizarre comment in my view but it's all about opinions isn't it? In what way does he look out of his depth? He's done very, very well. Good news on the Murphy front. At least Keano doesn't have to waste any time this 'window' looking to bring in a loanee keeper.
