![]() Thursday, 25th Feb 2010 18:39 Skipper Jon Walters has admitted that the Town squad have underperformed this season. Walters says the league table doesn’t lie and that the Blues deserve to be in the lower reaches of the division. Walters told the club site: "We can't hide from the fact that it's been a thoroughly disappointing season so far. We've not been good enough, simple as that. The table tells the story. We are where we deserve to be. "We've got good enough players to be doing far better but we have not matched the expectations. When the manager came in, those expectations shot through the roof and maybe some players thought that would be it, we would just turn up and go up because of the manager, but it doesn't work like that. "Maybe mentally it's been a problem for us this season. When you look at the players here, we have got a good squad yet we have underperformed. "We have worked hard on the training ground and on the pitch but it's not happened for us. We've got to improve. We need to get away from where we are in the league and make sure we are OK first and then come the end of the year, take a long look at ourselves because we have to move forward." Meanwhile, Bristol City have revealed that "a few" unnamed members of their first team squad have missed training due to illness this week ahead of Saturday’s game at Portman Road.
