McAuley Wins Cap as Northern Irish Lose

Town defender Gareth McAuley won his 22nd full cap as Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Chile in a friendly in Chillán on Saturday evening.

Chilean striker Esteban Paredes netted the game’s only goal with a header from a corner on the half hour.

SurreyITFC added 07:40 - May 31 After a shaky start last season, McAuley game improved as soon as he was teamed up with Delaney in the centre of defence. Don't sell him as these 2 are the rocks of which the team should be built around next year. If we have a strong defence and Chopra, Priskin & Wickham upfront we should be there or therabouts come the end of the season. COYB - Keano!
