Alun on Bryan Robson
Alun on Bryan Robson

Alun Armstrong has commented on his days at Middlesbrough and his former manager Bryan Robson. And the Town striker seems to have few regrets at his move to Portman Road.

Speaking in an interview for the latest Total Football, Armstrong was asked about his lowest point at the Riverside: "There were quite a few, but the worst was when Bryan Robson named me in a travelling party for an away game and then told the kit man not to bring my boots or kit. He also played people out of position just to make sure I didn't get a game"

He was also asked if there was a smile on his face when he heard Robson had left his job at Boro: "I would be lying if I said there wasn't."

Sounds an interesting read, especially for Boro fans.
