Fülöp Set for Town Medical
Fülöp Set for Town Medical

Sunderland keeper Márton Fülöp will reportedly undergo a medical at Town tomorrow with a deal regarding his move finally having been reached.

A fee of £750,000 is believed to have been agreed last week with the player having been involved in talks regarding personal terms and over the settlement of the remaining year of his Black Cats deal.

Over the weekend, Roy Keane indicated that an agreement was close and Sunderland boss Steve Bruce said he thought that the move would go through.

Elsewhere, former Blue Veliche Shumulikoski has not been offered a deal at Crystal Palace after his trial. The Macedonian was released by Preston at the end of last season.

think people are getting carried away, fulop has not played regular since 2007 when loaned from sunderland to leicster. no other club put in an offer for him and he had to take a pay cut to come to us. just cas he played 3 games for city as an emergency loan doesnt make him suddenly a top class keeper, surely a pl team would have snapped him up if this was the case.

@Jambo - well that shouldn't matter. There's no reason a professional footballer couldn't enjoy his career while being HIV positive. The battle is more with perceptions than any perceived risk - I mean I think we can presume that having unprotected sex with his team mates will not form part of his contract. However making such suggestions is facetious, immature and just a sign that you're a loser.

Stronger squad for having him and losing RW plus added benefit of encouragement for Tamas...... plus fit missus

One advantage Kennedy has over David Wright playing at left back is he is naturally left footed ! On Saturday also delivered good dead ball kicks into danger areas which could be useful with a goalscorer to get on the end of them ! Renewed my season ticket on the promise of new players coming in , so far only part convinced the improvements in player quality is what was promised !! Still need the striker !

I know Fulop will be a good signing, but does anybody remember the last keeper we brought in the last week of pre season? It was Matteo Sereni and what a disaster that was. A 1-0 defeat at sunderland next day and an awful season. This should have been done earlier, with the defence getting used to him and vice versa in games.
