![]() Tuesday, 28th Sep 2010 11:33 Academy pair Elliot Scotcher (pictured) and Jack Simmons picked up Wales U17 caps yesterday and played the full 90 minutes as their side lost 4-0 to Belgium in the final game of their European Championships qualifying group in Lithuania yesterday. Schoolboy striker Simmons had come on as a sub in the 1-0 opening match defeat to Denmark, while first-year scholar Scotcher, a midfielder, had previously started Friday’s 1-0 defeat to the hosts. Wales finished bottom of the group. Meanwhile, academy keeper Conor O’Donnell was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland U17s beat Albania 2-0 in the opening match of their European Championships qualifying group in Malta yesterday. Town central defender Nicolay Schrøder was also an unused sub as his Norwegian U17 squad beat the hosts 3-0 in their first game in the same group. The pair could face one another on Thursday in what may be the group's deciding game before sharing a flight back to England for Town's U18 match against Chelsea at Playford Road on Saturday.
