![]() Thursday, 16th Aug 2001 18:15 George Burley and Finidi George have commented on the Nigerian joining Town. The fee is thought to be in the region of £3.5 million and Finidi has signed for four years. Burley said: "We have signed a world class player who has scored goals wherever he has played. He will frighten Premiership defences with his pace. After training with his team mates over the last week he has settled in well and I have no concerns over putting him in the squad for Saturday, subject to registration with The Football Association going through tomorrow." Town have to get the relevant papers lodged by noon. Finidi himself seems to have been impressed by Town last season: "I am happy about the transfer. I think Ipswich last season played very well, they play good football and I want to work very hard with my team mates to make sure we do better this season. I am used to playing wide on the right but I can play in other positions but I prefer to play on the right. The English league is quick so I think I play smart as well so I am not going to have a problem adjusting. The English league is a bit more physical it is all about mentality and I think I have the mentality and the aggressiveness so there is no problem for me."
