Look at last years team and tell us it was better than this years? Getting rid of Pabs and Garvan were brave decisions, but the dressing room seems much happier and to be playing for the manager. Some of Roy's signings have been top class and whilst some have been woeful I think that on balance he has done a good job.

1 point off the play offs in the tightest championship for a number of years and people are saying Keane out ? Are you mad ? .Were what 12 games in . That ain't a bad start in my opinion thou i agree were not playing the most attractive football. But if come may were in the top 6 which is very possible the way this season is panning out so far then i won't be complaining. However if we get to January and were mid table loosing touch with the top 6 then i think it would be clear Keane should leave asap. But not now not yet ...this is a marathon if you pardon the quote and in my opinion were well placed to make a run for promotion towards the second half of the season.

All of this is irrellevant really. Keane's woeful time at our club will be coming to an end hopefully very soon. Whether he walks, gets the boot or refuses to sign a new contract he will be finally gone. My prediction is that he will refuse to sign a contract blaming Marcus for not giving him the cash to spend and then leaving. He can't quit as he has spat the dummy out before and walked and I think Marcus is too soft to sack him !!!

Obviously we are better off than last season. However if you can describe last Saturday's as a good performance then there is a problem. Good result yes, good performance, most definitely not. That's why I remain very far from happy with what is happening at PR. It's not just about the result on Saturday, but what there is to build on. We need to win at least 50% of games to get promoted. Can that really happen playing like that. In the long run the better footballing teams do prevail and we are clearly not one of those any more. If I could see some sign that this is recognised I would not be so disturbed, but there is none. Packing the team with Central Defenders and Midfielders, none of whom even try to get the ball down and play, might stop relegation, but it is very unlikely to get us promotion. I would contest that if we had drawn, or even lost on Saturday, which could easily have happened, then the majority of people commenting would have been complaining at the manner of the defeat. Just like the Coventry game (when the ref gave a penalty we didn't agree with, which looked very similar to the one we gratefully accepted against Millwall).

He will have a pre-set bunch of questions that he has seen before and had plenty of time to prepare for... Waste of time. What is its purpose?

Changing the Manager now is out of the question in my opinion. Keane has made mistakes as do all Managers the biggest being the signing of Lee Martin. I have agreed totally with all of the players he got rid of with the possible exception of Stead. Keane has now brought players in who came because of him being here so why rock the boat with a new man. People should understand that this division although not great in quality in depth is one of the most competitive in the world. Take your foot off the pedal and you will be in trouble. You cannot fault the effort and commitment of Ipswich Town this season and this is down to Keane and his fitness coach. The other thing to remember is that we are not a big Club and are in the same band as three quarters of the division in terms of the size of the Club. All of these teams want promotion as much as us but it just cannot happen to all of them. To win a match in this division now takes a lot of hard work and we cannot complain at how we have gone about our task this season. I agree it is not pretty but sometiomes it cannot be when there are so many other physical teams in this division. To the Keane outers (and I admit I have been on the cusp of wanting him out in the past) be careful what you wish for.

Well said Stowtractor. Getting outta this league does take patience, there is no quick fix. Ask the Boro fans, they were sixth when Southgate left and now several million and two managers later they are second bottom. To change manager now would be rash and set us back again and with more unsettling of the squad. Any way its not our way we give managers a chance. Keanes contract was for two years so let it run (No doubt ME always had every intention of that) and see where we are come May. Lets face it apart from one or two clubs in this league, all are capable of making at least the playoffs. None stand out and I include the top two. COYB Boys

Will be a good opportunity to say thank you to keano, clegg, marcus and all the coaching staff for having the guts to hold their nerve last season and for really pushing on this season with a much hungrier squad.

Can't be there but will someone ask him what's the club doing to secure good quality opposition for our reserve team & ensure they get regular games?? This is vital for bringing on our young players.

Whoppit and Chambes How can you say we have not improved under Keane? 1 point off play off's and still in the Cup, where were we last year? bottom out of the cup and no wins. Keane has got rid of all the deadwood and i would guess you are the fans that moaned about Counago and Garvan leaving (not the players to take us up) Robson was a great player and and the Ipswich fans were calling for his head for the first two years, and look where the great man took the club. Man City have spent just a little more than us (About 1 million I think) and they are not top of the League or setting the Championions League on fire or still in the cup. It would not matter who the club appoint you would still not be happy even if it was Ferguson you would still find a reason to call for his head, you never have anything possitive to say and as the club is so crap with crap players carp manager etc go support Norwich then us real fans can see why you are slagging off the club we support. Try Chelsea they are doing well this year

You calim chambersM that of course a new manager would need time and that he should be brought in now to give him time. My argument is that after 2 or 3 defeats people like you would be asking tfor him to be sacked as well and create a sackign atmosphere at this club. We are just outside the play-offs and in the quarters of the carling cup (only non-prem team left) and yet you want him gone. Let him see out his 2 year contract and respectably part ways and then hire some one new in the summer, or give him a new contract if a miracle happens and we go up! COYBS

RK , to me ,is not the typical Town manager , he would not have been my choice , but he has a contract for 2 years , which should be honoured , and should be judged on our position at that time ! If we are promoted he will be judged to have succeeded ( ? ) by most ( not by people like chambers ,whoppit and vulcher ) as we will be in the top flight again . Will it be a success if we get to the play - offs ? Only then , when we know where we are , will it be time to say " here is a new contract " or " thank you and goodbye " !

Vexorg "Take what Warnock does in short periods of time and with relatively modest amounts of cash - at Sheffield, Palace and now QPR." What's your point Vexorg, the teams are all still in the Championship? Cash available at QPR may not have been 'modest'.

ChambersM - I quote "Yes a manager will need a settling in period. So why not bring him in now and he can settle and build for a year if he has to." You were calling for Keane to be sacked all of last season, and you refused to accept that there may be a 'rebuilding' period, yet this is now the argument you use to justify changing manager? How is it that Keane is not allowed to settle/build, yet a new manager would? How does that make sense, or does it just highlight the fact that you and other people hate Keane the man, and will never be happy whatever he does? Given last season's shambles, I'll take the cup quarter finals and just outside the playoffs at this stage of the season! ChambersM and Whoppit out.

Lets be honest, after Royle Ipswich have never really looked like getting promotion. With the millions Keane has spent i would like to think we would be doin better than where we are, i instead think we have gone backward. The style of play is appalling and is not working or attractive to watch. Not much creativity in the team, no attacking full backs no real ambition in away matches and still not many goals being scored. I usually dont like sacking managers, and this is not Ipswich's way, but looking at what is now "Keanes team" i dont see a promotion team. I would like to see Burley or the Doncaster manager, they would defiently get this team goin, if with limited resources.

Vexorg "Take what Warnock does in short periods of time and with relatively modest amounts of cash - at Sheffield, Palace and now QPR." What's your point Vexorg, the teams are all still in the Championship? Cash available at QPR may not have been 'modest'. Alfromcol, Warnock joined Palace in mid-October 2007. They were 19th. They made the play-offs that year and were challenging again the following year until they went into admin. Resources were scarce at all times. He joined QPR in March of this year, position at the time 20th. Final position 13th. Now top and unbeaten. I am prepared to be proven wrong but I suspect his transfer/wage budget since he joined QPR stacks up well when compared to Keane's. Admittedly he took a couple of seasons to get Sheffield United going but they were regular play-off contenders and he took them up, only to be cheated out of staying up by West Ham. I'm not calling for Warnock to be the manager, just using him as an example of the managers out there who have a decent track record at this level. They are aware of the players who stand out at this level and would probably have been more of a success at PR with the resources Keane has had. Evans/Clegg/Keane appear to me to not understand this level of football very well. Nor are they learning very quickly.

The point to spending more money on players. I think there has to be a balance as Bristol City have just reported a 11 million loss and look where they are. Ipswich in the past spent spent spent and that partly to blame for where we are today. We had the money to spend and i think some of it has been wasted (Lisbie Martin etc) not just by Keane but also by Magilton, on the other hand magilton and Keane have brought in good players (Norris Scotland Walters etc) Its now about getting the best out of the squad and like Robson finding a system that suit the players we have. We need to look at Quility players and not squad palyers, players who can get the club up and keep them there. Its not about paying a furtune for a player and paying high wages. Easier said than done.
ChambersM added 14:56 - Nov 4
Well I say settle and build for a year, that doesn't mean I'd be happy with the dross that keane and his side entertained me with last year. I would expect the manager to make some sort of improvement to our football in the short term, which keane did not and still has not, we were better off under magilton
