Eight Town players are set to add to their international caps at various levels today, amongst them key defender Gareth McAuley and Hungarian duo Márton Fülöp and Tamás Priskin.

McAuley is likely to start for Northern Ireland in their Carling Nations Cup match against Scotland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin when he will be hoping to add to his 25 caps and one international goal (Sky Sports One/HD1 7.30pm).

Márton Fülop, 22 caps, and Tamás Priskin, 30 caps and eight goals, are with Hungary for a friendly against Azerbaijan in Dubai.

Town’s Mr Versatile Jaime Peters is in the Canada squad for their friendly against Greece in Larissa, which can be watched live online here from 3pm. The 23-year-old midfielder, full-back and very occasional frontman has previously won 23 full caps for his country.

Conor Hourihane is expected to start and win his fourth Republic of Ireland U21 cap during their friendly in Cyprus this afternoon. Uncapped keeper Ian McLoughlin will be a sub.

Full-back or midfielder Shane O’Connor was forced to pull out of the squad suffering with appendicitis - which will presumably also keep him out of Town's next few games - while striker Ronan Murray was on standby but was not called upon to make the trip.

Defender Troy Brown has been named in the Wales U21 side for their friendly against Northern Ireland at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham. Brown, 20, has previously won one U21 cap in addition to appearances at U19 level.

Academy midfielder Josh Carson is in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for that game. Carson has previously won one U21 cap. Town's other Northern Ireland U21 international, striker Caolan Lavery, is sidelined with a knee ligament injury.

Meanwhile, Town's reserves are in action against Oxford United this evening at Didcot's Loop Meadow (KO 7pm).

Elsewhere, former Blue Shefki Kuqi has somewhat surprisingly been linked with Newcastle United. The Finnish international, 34, is a free agent having left Swansea in January.

We should bring in Kuqi to replace Scotland, he would be happy to sit on the bench at this time of his career.
