Town's UEFA Cup match with Torpedo Moscow has been re-arranged for next Thursday with the Premiership match against Southampton postponed. Town are asking for the game with Manchester United scheduled for the next Saturday to be moved to the day after.

The Premier League has confirmed that games will go ahead this weekend, A Premier League spokesman said: "This weekend's Premier League matches will go ahead as scheduled."

Ipswich manager George Burley said: "The decision has been made and we have to respect that. Our plans will now have to be changed but circumstances have dictated that and we will look forward to playing Torpedo Moscow next week. We have got to be governed by the football bodies. Obviously we are all really shocked and feel for the people who have died and suffered".

David Sheepshanks said at a press conference this morning: "No-one would argue with the decision that has been made, although it is very disappointing for us on the eve of such an exciting night in the clubs history, but everything else pales into insignificance".

Torpedo Moscow fans are due to arrive at Stansted this afternoon and will be met by Town's club secretary David Rose who will make them aware of the situation.

Town wil be training today as planned ahead of Sunday's game with Blackburn Rovers.
