Ipswich Town’s season still isn’t quite over. Keeping the year alive are the ITFC Charitable Trust who have made it through to the final of the James Hehir Inter-Firm Cup. The knock-out competition designed specifically for businesses and organisations in the Ipswich area has been running throughout the 2010/11 season.

The Trust are paired with Suffolk Police Veterans in this Thursday’s final at Hadleigh United FC (KO 7.45pm) with the chance of taking some silverware back to Portman Road, having progressed via victories over Churchill (5-1), Ipswich Postals (7-1) and BT (7-3).

Spectators are welcome to come along to watch what promises to be a feisty affair, entrance is £2 for adults and £1 for children.

The Trust side is made up of a mixture of full and part-time coaches who regularly deliver football activities throughout the local community. Included in the team is Andy Crump, who was part of the Grundisburgh squad which recently clinched the Suffolk & Ipswich League title.

A Trust insider told TWTD that they are confident of success: “This competition has been great for creating a real buzz around the office and I’d certainly recommend it to any local businesses.

“The atmosphere is building for the final already and we’re all really looking forward to it. We feel that we’ve got a strong squad and one that’s capable of winning the trophy on Thursday.”
