Preston's Treacy Again Linked With Town Move
Preston's Treacy Again Linked With Town Move
Monday, 30th May 2011 09:13

Preston winger Keith Treacy is expected to join the Blues on his return from international duty with Ireland, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. Treacy, 22, was first mentioned in connection with Town on Saturday.

Today’s report also claims Portsmouth are the favourites to sign Treacy’s club and international team-mate Sean St Ledger. The Blues are also understood to be interested in the 26-year-old centre-half having had a bid turned down in January.

Dubliner Treacy, who is valued at around the £1 million mark, came on as an 83rd minute sub and won his fourth Republic of Ireland cap last night as his side beat Scotland 1-0 to claim the Carling Nations Cup.

Former Town loanee Darren O’Dea was also in the team, taking over from Blues central defender Damien Delaney, who had played in Tuesday’s 5-0 defeat of Northern Ireland and was an unused sub. St Ledger pulled out of the squad due to a knee injury.

The Republic of Ireland take on Macedonia in a Euro 2012 qualifier in Skopje on Saturday.

thankyou wickedblue - you saved me from saying it.

people want pj to sign anybody haha, and when it goes wrong will be complaining that ticket prices going up to pay for the mistake.
the person people should be having a dig at because we cant complete deals is M.E. not clegg, but without M.E. we wouldn't get any player interested in signing for town.

Firstly I never said sign anyone, I said someone....preferably one of the decent players we keep getting linked with.

Secondly I don't play either CM or FM but a decent effort at stereotyping.

Thirdly I do apologise for having a loss of patients however 4-5 average to poor seasons with plenty of money spent and little reward will do that to ya.

Finally I really don't see the need for Clegg he is an expensive waste of time, he is only here to enhance the image of the club from the corporate side of things. Even Roy Keane was rumoured to get decent players here but Clegg didn't get the deals done. If Evans isn't prepared to take a risk then why bring in the big profile managers to build up the hype? Surely his wage could go towards better players!

blrmy and wickedblue dont have a clue what they are talking about!! JBITFC has a perfect point, clegg is an expensive waste of time! yes its not his fault we cannot secure the deals but why pay someone massive amounts of money to do that job, evans is just thinking about the corporate side of things as JBITFC outlines. Also as for wickedblue making up things about JBITFC playing CM or FM and begging for us to sign 'someone' is a complete load of rubbish! he was mearly saying that all these quality players we are linked with surely we can sign one of them! i seem to recall PJ saying AGES ago that a signing with immient within the next few days and that never happened - we are just hopeful not bitter!!
