Town Looking for Charities Tuesday, 14th Jun 2011 11:10 Town are calling on charities based in the eastern region to apply to become the club's nominated charities for the season ahead. Each of the locally-based organisations will be eligible to receive a share of the cash the club receives from the FA’s Community Shield, as well as the chance to raise income and awareness via player appearances and Ipswich Town memorabilia. The club has elected to work with named charities for a number of years and continues to support hospitals and hospices in the region with annual Christmas visits by first team players. Chief executive Simon Clegg said: “Ipswich Town is committed to helping raise the profile of our nominated charities, as well as much needed funds, lending them the stature of the club to achieve the maximum possible benefit during their tenure as a club charity." If you are locally-based, not a branch of a national charity, think your charity could benefit from the strength of the Ipswich Town name and would like to be considered to receive special attention from the club, please contact Town’s media and PR manager Camilla Haycock via email here or by post via Ipswich Town Football Club, Portman Road, Ipswich, IP1 2DA to receive an application form. Completed applications need to be received by the club by Friday 1st July 2011.
