Rodgers Dismisses Scotland Link
Rodgers Dismisses Scotland Link
Thursday, 14th Jul 2011 10:53

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed reports linking the Swans with a move for their former striker Jason Scotland. Yesterday, the Welsh media claimed Town and the newly-promoted Premier League side were in talks regarding a proposed deal.

However, Rodgers says that although he is on the look-out for another frontman, the Trinidad and Tobago international isn’t in his thoughts: "Jason Scotland hasn't come into my thinking."

Town boss Paul Jewell is understood to have been impressed with Scotland during pre-season so far and may not now be in any rush to off-load the 32-year-old, who scored 10 goals during 2010/11.

Get rid of Priskin and Scotland and sign a younger player with some pace, because our team just does'nt have any, found out last season and will be again unless we sign a decent midfielder with some legs and creativity and someone who can finish, without those 2 we will finish absolutely no where, again !

Id love to see him scoring goals, just don't think his got it in him. Would like to see how Chopra and Priskin play together.

Jason, if your career continues to worsen, you'd make a great double for Carlton from fresh prince of belaire. - Give it some thought.

Where on earth do some of these stories come from?!

We're being fed a non story about Scotland that isn't going to happen whilst stringing us along with a story about 2 offers which we're waiting to hear back from?

And PJ wants to keep quiet about his targets. What a load of r*bb*sh.

Interesting. I still think Scotland will do a job for us in a 4-4-2, but he is not a one up front player.

not a great signing by keane last season but he could do a job this season, we need 4/5 strikers at the club. wont be dissapointed to see him go or stay.

I think we should keep him.
Question for Phil TWTD, is there any way we could start some kind of petition or process in order to change the style of our goalnets at Portman Road.
"Make them bigger" I hear Priskin and Scotland say!!
No, I mean couldn't we have those blue nets back that we had in the 80's and early 90's or just something different.
Everybody seems to have these square box nets that seem to be a product of when we had Euro 96 in this country.
The blue nets would give PR a sense of identity again, rather than look the same as almost every other ground, especially on tv.
Goals would look better also, it seems really hard to get a real cracker in the top corner also with the types of nets about today also.
I know that players thrive on their goals looking good on tv also.
I understand that its not a very important point, and I'm sorry to bore you all with it!
