Andrews Talks Continue

Blackburn’s Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews looks set to complete his season-long loan move to Town in the next couple of days. TWTD understands the 30-year-old has already been at Portman Road to talk to manager Paul Jewell with the clubs currently negotiating the terms of the deal.

Andrews has opted to move to the Blues ahead of a number of other interested Championship sides, including Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, having been impressed with what Jewell had to say when they met.

Town and Blackburn were in talks regarding the terms of the loan today with the discussions set to continue on Wednesday. The deal looks likely to be concluded well in time for the Dubliner to line-up for the Blues when they visit Bristol City for the opening game of the season on Saturday.

Andrews is contracted to Blackburn until 2013 but made only three starts and three sub appearances last season and is not in manager Steve Kean’s plans for the season ahead.

Meanwhile, former loanee Rory Fallon has joined Yeovil Town on a short-term deal having left Plymouth at the end of last season.

Ex-Town midfielder David Cawley is on trial back home in Ireland with Dundalk having been released by the Blues at the end of last season.

4-3-3 Best formation for ipswich with the two wing men upfront droping back into formation 4-5-1 when playing defensive..

4-4-2 is such a redundant formation nowadays, even when they show it on sky posrts, the commentator immediately follows up with....so and so will prbably drop be the front guy....or expect the outside mids to push forward to make 3 up front....

Marcus139 - I'm pretty sure 442 is the formation that man united used for most of their season last year. Chopra ha said it himself that he is much better with someone upfront with him. We saw that 451 just led to the likes of wickham spending most if the time defending which will be the saw with jet. As soon as we went to 442 we were a better team and more of a threat going forward. This point is mainly for games at home!

Why is everyone making a formation and leaving Carson out of the starting eleven? He proved a very useful and capable player towards the end of last season. There is no reason why he shouldn't play out wide instead of JET, who i have seen play at both Cardiff and in the pre season with Ipswich, and who in my personal opinion looks more like a clumsy and lazy player than a speedy winger who is required to defend!

I admire your optimism Pazelle re nothing to fear. Bristol City have Pittman and Maynard up front with Stead and Clarkson as back ups so there is something to fear. I will take a point now but agree with you that Andrews should not start.

Good player - BUT do we really need him if as people keep telling me PJ is a 4-4-2 man? Oh hang on - he isn't. He prefers one up front.

Good player I still would like to see young Carson in the middle of midfield I thinks that's going to be he's position in the future for our team
