![]() Sunday, 11th Jul 1999 17:22 Former Charlton 'keeper Mike Salmon is still weighing up Town's offer of a contract. The 36 year old is required as back up for Richard Wright replacing the Hull bound Lee Bracey. Given that Wright hasn't maissed a game in two years Salmon needs to ponder upon not only the football aspect of the contract, but radio appearance fees from Radio Suffolk. Bracey became a cult hero despite maknig no full appearances for the Town, something of a feat in itself. More developments as the week moves on presumably. Today's leaders in the race for Kieron Dyer are Newcastle with Ruud Gullit keen to bring him in as soon as he has got rid of Toon rebel Hamann. Seeing as the favourites to sign Dyer change almost daily we will be running a league table to keep you up to date with the current runners. Today's table (with previous position in brackets): 1 Newcastle (2) 2 West Ham (1) 3 Leeds (3) 4 Middlesbrough (4) 5 Arsenal (5) 6 Spurs (6)
