Blackburn Boss Confirms Bullard Interest
Blackburn Boss Confirms Bullard Interest
Tuesday, 23rd Aug 2011 21:08

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has confirmed his club’s interest in Town target Jimmy Bullard. The former Fulham assistant manager worked with Bullard when they were together at Craven Cottage.

Kean said: "I've probably been linked with Jimmy because I met him on Sunday when he was out with his boy and I had a chat with him and he was telling me about his troubles, and he could be available.

"I had Bully when I was with Chris Coleman at Fulham and he is a colourful character. But I don't know how his fitness is, whether he has done a full pre-season. But he is a quality player when he is on his game.

"It depends if we need somebody in that position, and if we have done our business and filled those slots, then it might not happen, but if we haven't, then you never know."

In addition to the Blues and Rovers, Wolves, Wigan, Norwich, Bolton, West Ham and QPR have all been linked since Hull announced their intention to terminate the midfielder’s contract in the wake of his alleged transgression on their pre-season trip to Slovenia.

Elsewhere, TWTD understands released Blues midfielder Billy Clark is set for a trial with Luton having previously spent time with Gillingham and Sheffield United.

Another one of the youngsters released this summer, Irish midfielder David Cawley, is joining Galway United on trial, having recently been with Dundalk for a similar spell.

Meanwhile, striker Nathan Ellington is amongst a number of players speaking about life as a Muslim footballer in an article in The Independent. Ellington, who converted to Islam seven years ago, has set up the Association of Muslim Footballers.

Without a creative midfield we'll continue to lose heavily because the opposition have nothing to fear from our attack and our defence is run ragged

@bluey1668 you can always leave. Put your season ticket up on ebay or even throw it onto the pitch at the next game. I could do with a laugh. Oh and as for the result I now wonder what you would have done when Bobby Robsons team lost 7-0 to Sheffield Utd? That goes for the rest of you spineless whiners. Don't let the door hit your ar$e on the way out.

@Crazee Yep a lot happier thanks but if your not then I suggest you read my reply to bluey1668

Doesn't sound like Kean is too interested in JB to be honest, as for advanced talks with QPR I would imagine as they are now in talks with Joey Barton that interest will be cooled? JB is still a quality player and would I feel form a great partnership with Andrews who has looked good despite results........COYB

Would be happy if JB signed, but can't see it happening.

I do however find it encouraging that PJ is looking outside of the UK for players and hopefully will make some useful signings before the window shuts.

I really like Jimmy and is by far and away PJ's best signing to date - but I wouldn't break the bank for him. He does carry a risk and could get injured - which we could ill afford.

Think we should be buying players - rather than just freebies.
