![]() Thursday, 1st Sep 2011 09:53 Town have announced that their three nominated charities for the 2011/12 season will be the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Norcas and the ITFC Charitable Trust. The locally-based trio, who were chosen from more than 50 applicants, will receive support which includes signed memorabilia, player appearances, a share of the FA’s Community Shield distribution and help in raising awareness of their cause, as well as a substantial discount on use of the club’s conference and banqueting facilities. The charities were represented at Saturday’s game against Leeds when they received signed memorabilia and a certificate from club secretary Sally Webb. Matt Wilson, head of fundraising for Norcas, said: “We’re really excited to be working with Ipswich Town this season. “Norcas is a leading independent charity supporting those in East Anglia affected by alcohol, drugs and gambling and this is a great opportunity to bring awareness of our services and support to those people in Suffolk who might need our help.” The Football League’s Official Charity for the season is Help the Hospices which will ensure that the club’s three local hospices, St Elizabeth Hospice, St Nicholas Hospice and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, will receive special attention, as well as their traditional visits from the players at Christmas.
