Andrews Wins Cap in Irish Draw
Andrews Wins Cap in Irish Draw
Tuesday, 6th Sep 2011 18:00

Town loanee Keith Andrews won his 22nd Republic of Ireland cap and played the full 90 minutes as his side drew 0-0 with Russia at the Luzhniki in Moscow, their second stalemate in two games.

Andrews notably made a couple of important saving challenges late on in what was largely a rearguard effort from Giovanni Trapattoni’s men.

Ex-Town loanee Darren O’Dea, now with Leeds, was also in the side, while Damien Delaney was an unused substitute.

In with a shout of picking up international caps later today are David Stockdale, who will again be on the bench when England face Wales at Wembley, Carlos Edwards with Trinidad and Tobago, who take on Barbados in Bridgetown, Jaime Peters, whose Canadian side are up against Puerto Rico, Josh Carson who is now with the Northern Ireland senior squad which is facing Estonia in Tallin, and Tamás Priskin, whose Hungarians are in Moldova.
