George Burley says the good performance against Leeds and the win over Crewe have left his players in the right mood ahead of Saturday's game with Everton.

He added that the visitors have had a good season so far: "They've played very well so far and had some good results. If you look through their squad they have international class players and quality throughout. They had a tremendous 5-0 win against West Ham last time out but we're at home and want the points to push up the table. The last two games — at Crewe and at home to Leeds — we have put in good performances and we need to do that regularly and move up the table".

Burley rates Duncan Ferguson highly, although may find his side line-up against an Everton without the Scotsman: "He is a very good player, but when you look at the performance of the team in the last game without him it shows the strength in depth they have. They will have a lot of confidence and have a very strong squad, but we are still confident we can win the game, and we did beat them twice last season".

Burley will check on injury worries Mark Venus, John McGreal and Alun Armstrong tomorrow at training. None of them trained today.

He was also pleased with the contributions of both Sixto Peralta and Tommy Miller at Crewe and hinted that they may be involved against Everton in some capacity.
