![]() Friday, 12th Oct 2001 11:54 Crystal Palace manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he is interested in unsettled Town striker Richard Naylor. Stories surfaced last week linking the two but George Burley moved quickly to say he knew nothing of it. Bruce said today: "Yes, Richard is a player I like and yes, we have been watching him. But there is nothing happening at the moment. I first made my interest in Richard known when I was at Huddersfield and I sold Marcus Stewart to Ipswich. I was interested in Richard coming the other way and spoke to George Burley then. There has been no formal enquiry yet. He is just one of a group of strikers I am looking at." Bruce's first choice appears to be Middlesbrough's Andy Campbell. He failed a Palace medical in the summer, but after an ankle operation is well on the way to full fitness.
