Hyam in Town Side at Hull
Saturday, 7th Jan 2012 14:45

Midfielder Luke Hyam is back in the Town side for the first time since the Carling Cup tie against Northampton in August and for only the second time under Paul Jewell’s management. Ibrahima Sonko, Nathan Ellington and Josh Carson are also back in the XI.

Jimmy Bullard misses out against old club due to the flu bug which kept him out of the Nottingham Forest defeat on Monday, while Lee Martin drops to a seven-man bench, which also includes Michael Chopra. Joe Whight and Tommy Smith and Jason Scotland.

Hull give a start to on-loan Arsenal keeper Vito Mannone, while defender Liam Cooper plays his first game of the season. Paul McShane, Joe Dudgeon, Richard Garcia, Tom Cairney and Robbie Brady are all back in Nicky Barmby’s side. Full match preview here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Delaney, Sonko, Cresswell, Carson, Leadbitter, Hyam, Emmanuel-Thomas, Ellington, Murphy. Subs: Wright, Whight, Ainsley, Smith, Martin, Chopra, Scotland.

Hull City: Mannone, McShane, Hobbs, Cooper, Dudgeon, Garcia, McKenna, Cairney, Stewart, Brady, Mclean. Subs: Peet, Dawson, Chester, Evans, Olofinjana, Cullen, Simpson.

honestly dont think we will survive the drop unless we show Jewell the door QUICKLY. I cant name one area of progress since he took over which is amazing considering the shambles he was left with.

Evans, now is the time, else we are doomed and its on your head

Another long run in the Cup! Poor defending and poor finishing.
Sorry PJ, my patience has gone and I now wish you were too. Please resign.

Northampton clean sheet so we now head the table for shocking defending. Is that the progress you referred to Mr Clutz?

I am new to this but after listening to the the Drury interview whilst walking the dog i had to do something to express my concern as to the current management of our team. Now I am no genius but most good managers that i have ever known actually talk to their team, however according to Drury after returning from being played constantly on loan the only thing that Jewel has said to him was 'your going to play' last Monday.

How can you actually manage or inspire your team if you do not even talk to them.
As such and even though he has not even had a year at the club we must let Mr Jewel go and let him hide somewhere else as he seems unable to face his team or manage them.

The interview has done it for me,(listen to it if you can) and shows that this or any team will not play for our manager (unless he has some kind of counseling first) that will enable him to face his team, talk to them and try to help them believe that he has some faith in their ability.

Can anyone get a link to that interview? Jewell out. If he has any respect for the fans& club he should walk now. Clueless & it will grt worse if he stays. Sad days at a great club.

We are 60 mill in debt but then pretty much every other club is in debt to some extent! I think man u are over 100 mill in debt and portsmouth are way over ipswich! Thats nothing to worry about. Id give jewl another month to turn it around because at least hes starting to make a few changes and bring some young blood into the team! i really hope they dont go down, worried is not the word!

another 3 goals conceded another defeat Jewell, Clegg must go now before its too late although it probably is no defence even with the GREAT Sonko I dont think so this is without doubt the worst Ipswich team of all time remember Hull had 6 reserves in there side sack the lot of them

Yet another of Jewells signings fails to make the grade with the news that Ingarmarrson released now please do the same with Bullard and Bowyer and take captain Leadboots with you. What on earth was Jewell thinking about in dropping Lee Martin when he has been one of our best players lately.
