Reading Keeper on Town Wish List
Reading Keeper on Town Wish List
Sunday, 8th Jan 2012 00:58

Town are understood to be interested in taking Reading keeper Alex McCarthy on loan for the remainder of the season. The 22-year-old recently returned from a similar spell at Leeds United.

Manager Paul Jewell has previously said that the Blues are keen on signing an additional glovesman to compete with Arran Lee-Barrett and Richard Wright, former loanee David Stockdale having been recalled by Fulham last month.

Guildford-born 6ft 4in-tall England U21 cap McCarthy came through the Royals’ youth system and has had prior loan spells at Woking, Cambridge United, Team Bath, Aldershot Town, Yeovil Town and Brentford in addition to Leeds.

pointless!!!
everyone with half a brain knows all we need to focus on is defenders defenders defenders...

i believe if we had a half decent defense then the rubbish we have in front of it would perform a bit better and we would actually have a chance of winning the odd game 1-0 or 1-1 draws instead of having to score 4 or more to win

I'm undecided on this one- would improve the squad but would prefer a permanent signing

I agree with all who have said we need defenders L/R,But h32 is correct in his summing up, Who in their right minds would want to come to Ipswich? Search in the lower divisions and try and get the very best young players we can ,They would jump at the chance to play in the Champions league and Ipswich is and will always be a great club. It will cost money but i do not see another option right now. How do you think we will get out of this mess? lets hear your views?

Agree with Guentchev, Priskin has never been given a long run in the team by either Keane or Jewell. Play him alongside Scotland until Chopra gets his confidence back, as for JET he can stay on the subs bench ..... most overated player we have bought for a while, we cannot rely on his 30yard shots once a game.
