Two Changes for Town
Two Changes for Town
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:20

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes from the side which lost 3-1 at Leeds 10 days ago. Suspended keeper Alex McCarthy is replaced by Arran Lee-Barrett, while Michael Chopra takes over from Jason Scotland up front.

The Blues would appear to have plenty of options in terms of formation with Lee Martin perhaps taking up his recent role behind the lone striker, in this case Chopra, or into a three-man central midfield in 4-5-1.

Alternatively, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or Daryl Murphy could join the former Cardiff man in a conventional 4-4-2.

West Ham make two changes with the injured Papa Bouba Diop and Sam Baldock out, but with the latter still in the 16. Matt Taylor and Henri Lansbury take their places.

Former Blues loanee Mark Noble starts for the Hammers. A full match preview can be found here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Sonko, Smith, Cresswell, Martin, Hyam, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Wright, Delaney, Bullard, Leadbitter, Scotland.

West Ham: Green, Faubert, McCartney, Tomkins, Reid, Noble, Collison, Nolan, Lansbury, Taylor, Cole. Subs: Baldock, Faye, Nouble, Hall, O'Neil.

i know we lose the lead almost every game but i mean against leeds we were playing well and looked good to see out the win. leeds looked out of options. what i meant was the mix up that led to the GKs sending off. If only we could hold on to leads we would be in the play-offs! so lets not kid ourselves, the team isn't that bad, we are just missing a certain je ne sais quoi!

its the last half hour when the 5h1t will hit the fan. Wonder what odds I'd get on a Sonko own goal? Thats one of the ways to cock up he hasn't managed yet, that or sending off

It's gonna be a long second half i feel. As West Ham will probably play more attacking and we will press the self destruct button..please say i'm wrong!

I really hope PJ can quieten all you haters out there! yes there has been some bad results lately, ill be the first to admit that but you need to give the man time to build things! I always thought Hyam should have been in the team!! and knew chops would/will come good in a town shirt!

I thought we would loose 4-1 today
3-1 up at half time almost lost for words

Still think we need a 4th goal to make sure we win the game
that shows how bad our defence is

Fantastic scoreline so far but it's only half time. We all know how five minutes of the sonko show can let teams back in. Let's hope the defence can hold out for the 90+ minutes.
COYB!

captaincrunch.. all we are missing is a decent defence and tractorboy666, i can say you are wrong, but in my heart i really doubt our ability to defend, week in week out we throw away leads , i am so gutted we havent got a defender or 2 in this transfer window...coyb
