New Signing Soon Wednesday, 31st Oct 2001 09:29 George Burley has revealed that he could unveil a new signing as soon as next week, possibly the player being scouted when he was in Italy last Thursday watching Torino and Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia. The Town boss said: "We have one player in mind who is currently playing abroad. We are speaking to his club and if all goes well we shall bring him in within the next week. It has been a big blow to lose Finidi George for six weeks with a broken cheekbone and that has left us short in the wider area. We are always looking to improve and we have a certain amount of money to spend and we need to wheel and deal. We have a stronger squad than last season but we always knew the second season in the Premiership would be tougher." The reference to Finidi George's injury suggests a wideman or striker, the two areas the Nigerian has played this season. Time for the speculation to begin.
