Drury Replaces Carson at Blackpool Saturday, 25th Aug 2012 14:46 Town boss Paul Jewell has made one change to his side for today’s game at Blackpool with Andy Drury coming in for Josh Carson on the left of midfield.
Aside from that switch, the 18 is the same as beat Watford 1-0 on Tuesday and drew 1-1 with Blackburn at Portman Road last week. Midfielder Byron Lawrence made the trip but isn’t involved.
New signing Guirane N’Daw has returned to France and will join up with the squad next week. Full match preview here.
Town: Loach, Edwards, Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Hyam, Luongo, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Martin, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Delaney, Carson, Stevenson, Murray, Scotland.
Blackpool: Gilks, Crainey, Baptiste, Cathcart, Eardley, Martinez, Osbourne, Gomes, Taylor-Fletcher, Ince, K Phillips. Subs: Halstead, Evatt, Ferguson, Sylvestre, Noguera, M Phillips, Dicko.

There is only so much support you can offer become its just becomes useless. How can we KEEP being on the end of these kind of results. I know we are a young team, but this just gets embarassing. We wont VERY VERY rarely beat a team 4-0, yet we consistantly let in mass amounts. Same excuses i imagion.

You have to ask yourself (with a similar defense) why these fumpings didn't happen during the second half of last season? whether it's psychological and some players feel they have more to lose at the beginning of the season and have nothing to lose once we are tailing 'away' from the play-offs and just keeping relegation at bay I simply don't know. But even as my dad said after the result (in layman's terms) teams who have ambitions of getting out of a league simply don't get hammered like we do on this basis.

if Jewell can complete the 'Total Wipeout' course, I may forgive him.. Not going to happen.. this result will take me 2 months to get over at least.. think pre-match meal must have been a stick of rock each

Although it is no disgrace to lose to Blackpool, 6-0 is pathetic. These heavy defeats are far too frequent. Worryingly, not only is our defence likely to cave in on a regular basis, but we don't look like scoring many goals either. We do need another centre back and right back (at least until Hewitt is fit) and a physical defensive midfielder (N'Daw?. We also need more creativity in the centre of midfield (Drury?) and a partner for Chopra. Unfortunately, Evans/Clegg seem determined to keep spending to a minimum so there is very little chance of us getting any decent players. It is therefore very difficult to be optimistic about the season ahead.

Let's get a reality check. Until we sign quality players we are always going to struggle. You only have to look at other teams in the Championship to realise that we are miles apart! Bristol City, Nottingham Forrest, Blackburn, Leicester etc have all made big statements of intent. We can not compete with just team spirit and two bob loan deals! Everyone must be as sick as me to hear about all these supposed players linked only for them to go towards strengthening our rivals (Cox, Baldock, Fuller, Davies etc) Invest or die !!!
