![]() Friday, 16th Nov 2001 11:27 West Ham have confirmed their interest in Jamie Clapham. Earlier in the week reports said the Hammers had enquired about the Town number three, although George Burley has denied that Town have received a bid for the player.
The valuations are thought to be £1 million and £2 million and it is expected a fee will be set somewhere between the two figures. Clapham's agent says that any move his client might make will not take place in the next couple of days. He said: "We have not heard anything as yet. As far as we are concerned Jamie is preparing for Sunday's game against Bolton and the UEFA Cup match with Inter Milan. I don't anticipate anything happening over the next 48 to 72 hours." Meanwhile West Ham are to speak to Helsingborgs IF keeper Sven Andersson. The Hammers have a number of keepers out and want the 38-year-old as cover. Andersson was impressive in the away leg of Town's UEFA Cup tie, a game which was meant to mark his retirement.
