Two Changes at Brighton
Tuesday, 2nd Oct 2012 19:00

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes from the side which drew 1-1 at Barnsley on Saturday for this evening’s game at table-topping Brighton.

Michael Chopra returns after a thigh strain, while Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is recalled with Luke Hyam missing out due to his back injury and Jason Scotland dropping to the bench.

The Blues look set to return to their more usual 4-3-2-1 formation after lining up in a diamond at Oakwell. Full match preview here.

Town: Loach, Edwards, Chambers, Higginbotham, Cresswell, Drury, N'Daw, Murphy, Emmanuel-Thomas, Martin, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Smith, Ainsley, Luongo, Carson, Ellington, Scotland.

Brighton: Kuszczak, Calderon, El-Abd, Greer, Bridge, Bridcutt, Hammond, Barnes, LuaLua, Dobbie, Orlandi. Subs: Ankergren, Dunk, Painter, Harley, David, Buckley, Dicker.

Please remember that both Chopra and JET did well for us last season as part of a 4-2-3-1 formation. JET is young and still learning his trade; he is bound to be inconsistent. It is part of the price of playing young and inexperienced players.

only small negative is that we do seem to be inviting them on to us. that said it seems deliberate and organised so hopefully won't prove a problem. jet doing some decent defensive work as Bridge does like to get forward. carlos my player of first half and higginbotham not far behind. loach has had no saves to make and equally chopra very quiet at other end but overall we look good for our lead. our fans making all the noise and if carling made away fixtures they would all be like this. our boys attacking our end in 2nd half and 3 points a serious possibility. jewell could be getting deserved plaudits later tonight, even from me

Exposed at last. How can you believe that anyone would you consider you to be a Town supporter.

What ever anyone's opinion of the manager is, a true supporter would never ever wish their team to get beaten by the opposition.

I rest my case.

Bluey123 you may wish to consider the notion that Ipswich Town is a football club and the raison d'etre of a football club is to win football matches.

well all good so far, and looking at all the curret scores, only 1 away team is actually in a losing game all others are either winning or drawing....maybe it is an away team's night across the board

Before you all mark me down, don't get me wrong; a point away against a half-decent side is always welcome. Just wish we could have for once hung on for all three points.

Great point but doesn't change anything in the long run..Jewell is still the wrong man for this club.

Good Point, yes a point gained, but don't think anybody around us near the BOTTOM lost,so we must beat Cardiff Saturday to avoid being BOTTOM,but a positive result.

But Jewell must still go.
