Hyam to Miss Cardiff Clash Thursday, 4th Oct 2012 14:13 Midfielder Luke Hyam has been ruled out of Saturday’s live Sky game against Cardiff at Portman Road with the back injury he sustained at Barnsley last week.
Manager Paul Jewell confirmed that the 20-year-old would miss out: “Luke has still got quite a sore back, so he’s not available.
“Paul Taylor’s a big loss to us as he was a bright spark for us and he’s sorely missed. Other than that there are no injuries.”
Striker Michael Chopra is fit to face his former club after his thigh strain with a Town statement regarding the race fixing charges the 28-year-old is facing due later today.

Hyam missing.... not a problem for me (I won't be popular saying that will I). Chopra - might be available, as long as he's not in equestrian chokie by then. Silly lad, he makes very bad decisions - and not just those on the football pitch. Bring in that crazy Frenchman! Oh yes.

Not that PJ gives him a proper chance anyway.

Only my opinion but Hyam would always be my team as he gives us the bite needed in midfield. The problem for Luke is not just his fitness but where PJ plays him. For me he should play just in front of the back four where he breaks up the play, not on the right side of a diamond. NDaw will obviously play the holding role against Cardiff and please PJ play Luongo instead of Drury.

He's starting to become a bit of a sick note, he plays ok then gets injured and takes ages then to get back in the first 11.

Must be frustrating for the boy, finally gets back in the 1st team only to pick this injury. But thats football, he will be back and come good again, hes a good player with a bright future.
