Mohsni Out to Keep Temper in Check
Thursday, 11th Oct 2012 17:22

New Blues loan signing Bilel Mohsni has vowed to keep his infamous temper in check as he looks to make an impact at Portman Road, having joined on a three-month loan from Southend last week.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was booked 19 times and sent off on three occasions in two seasons with the Shrimpers and was close to being red-carded in a pre-season friendly against the Blues. On a couple of occasions he took the train back from games alone.

"It is more frustration,” he told Radio Suffolk.”I'm a bad loser. My temper comes when I lose When I make a mistake I beat myself up a lot. But I have to work on it and it will be fine."

The versatile Mohsni says he’s willing to play anywhere as long as he can establish himself in Paul Jewell’s side and win himself a longer-term deal: "Maybe he could put me in as a striker. Maybe he needs a centre-back.

“We chatted together. I said 'some people want me right-wing, left-wing, central midfield'. I'm happy in any position. It's just better to be in the starting 11 than on the bench.

"When I came to Southend I was a centre-back. And then after some injuries I scored a lot of goals in training so the manager asked if I could play striker. I said 'no, but if you need it why not?'."

I hope he isn't on Twitter.

Sad to see Korouma will be the focus of his anger.

Nothing wrong with being a bad loser do long as he doesn't leave the team in trouble with stupid cards and suspensions, good luck to the boy we need a bit of steel!

The boys got attitude which means he's a character, I like that!

It shows he's got passion which means he cares, I like that too!

We need a bit of attitude, the others could learn to get a bit of attitude, its whats missing in this team, a bit of aggro and attitude, I think were too nice, too easy to lose heart and be pushed over.

On saturday when he was warming up he was already interacting with the crowd, good luck to the boy.

Cheers blueongo, lets hope the boy can give a few others a bit of needle.

Dont get me wrong I'm not advocating trouble but you never see our players flare up over a tackle, they all seem a bit placid. Just would like to see a teeny weeny bit of nastyness, show a bit of passion to at least get the crowd going, show they care about winning and losing.

At the moment they all seem to just shrug their shoulders and trudge off after another disapointing result.

He was already my favourite player even before he stepped on to the pitch and I can't wait to see him start a game. Thought it was JET but he has turned out to be a very frustrating player to watch always promising more than he delivers....hoping he will come out of his shell soon though. We definately need some characters to inject some life and flair into the team. Bilel please keep a tiny spark of anger for occasional use...we supporters have been starved of excitement for a long while now. Can work to fire up the other boys too.
I would like to praise PJ for having the guts both to admit his mistakes then trying to correct them then further having the balls to backtrack temporarily whilst we are in dire circumstances. I believe we have some great players who are just really low in confidence just now. Get some some good work in over this break lads. COYB.

Being at ipswich will certainly help with his anger control management, in fact he can practice every time we play as we lose all the time :(.... On a serious note it could be the kick up the arse the rest need, we are so lacking raw passion. We need a massive injection of something, wouldnt it be nice to start winning a few so at least we can start to see some space between us and the relegation candidates.

Under Jim Magilton we flirted a little with the play offs , but not since big Joe have we really competed in this division for promotion. Its been far too long and simply not good and it has to change. So hopefully Mosnhi will kick some arse in the dressing room and on the pitch. When i played, we had a guy very similar to him and he made a big difference with his raw passion, opposing players when flying in his wake ....lovely bloke and fair but what a savage he was, hated playing against him in training matches, many a time i wanted to rip his head off, but great buddies in the club room afterwards.....coyb

Now if we can just find another dozen or so players with the same attitude we may have a team that will perform...................passion, belief and giving one,s all,
I really like this guy, and never seen him play yet, get him off the bench and a regular on the pitch!

Not sure if has picked the right club if he cannot cope with losing and frustration unless he plans to reverse the trend of the Evans/Clegg era by himself ! Here's hoping.

Worried too about his versatility. PJ cannot put people in their best position when everyone else knows what position a player should be in - what is he going to do with this guy.

Prediction: Mohsni plays every second game, every position and gets sent off in December playing in goal !

Really hopes this works out - I think the team could do with a bad loser with passion!

Already one of my favourite players! He almost caused a Helguson OG in his 2 minute debut!

....... every team needs a 'poor loser' - to keep the rest fired up. Potentially good signing - show em' Mohsni what you can do for this ailing outfit.

Agree with the positive comments on here about him injecting some much-needed drive into the team, his versatility fascinates me just as much though. Its reasonably common to get big players who can play through the middle as either a centre back or centre forward, but to also have the skill-set to also be able to play on the wing is extremely rare.

He scored 13 goals in 25 starts for Southend last season. Even taking into account those goals were scored at League 2 level, a record of better than one goal every two starts for a player who probably played a few of those games in defence or on the wing is a notable record nonetheless. If it works out for him here I can see him rapidly becoming a fans favourite.
