Shearer Also in Barbados
Thursday, 25th Oct 2012 23:40

Ex-England skipper Alan Shearer is currently on holiday in Barbados, according to the Daily Mail, the same Caribbean island where Blues owner Marcus Evans has been this week. Earlier this evening, TWTD revealed that Shearer had been interviewed for the vacant position as Town manager.

After Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat to Derby County, Town assistant manager Chris Hutchings told the press that Evans was in Barbados.

I reckon they just released this story to get some publicity. Clegg face said.they'll take their time, so perhaps a clever ploy to keep pp us happy that they're on top of things..?

Good bits -
Plenty of publicity for brand ME
Might be an attaction for potential signings who otherwise don't fancy East Anglia?

Bad bits -
Track record
'Big name - big egos' have never worked here before
Unlikely to encourage youth players?
Smells like short term thinking - unlikely to be a five year plan!

The more I think of it I like the echos of Burley's appointment that would come with Veno and a long term plan
