Academy second-year scholar Gunnar Thorsteinsson and Iceland’s U19s drew 2-2 with hosts Croatia in their European Championships qualifying group on Sunday.

The young Icelanders, who beat Azerbaijan 2-1 in their opening match, need to avoid defeat in their final game against Georgia on Wednesday, but could progress to the next stage in any case depending on the result in the Croatia-Azerbaijan clash.
