Chambers Players' Player of the Year
Wednesday, 24th Apr 2013 00:27

Central defender Luke Chambers was named the Town Players’ Player of the Year at Tuesday evening’s end of season dinner at Milsoms in Kesgrave.

Aaron Cresswell’s strike during last week’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Portman Road was named the Goal of the Season, while Tommy Smith carried off the Boxholders and Sponsors’ Player of the Year gong.

Luke Hyam won the John Kerridge Memorial Trophy for the most improved player, manager Mick McCarthy having been the man deciding the destination of that award.

Striker Jack Marriott was the Academy Player of the Year, having netted 26 goals for the U18s and U21s during 2012/13.

Voting for the Supporters' Player of the Year has already started online and continues before Saturday's game against Birmingham City.

Younger Town fans can also vote for the Junior Blues Player of the season here.

After a very poor start to his town career, chambers has been much improved under mick and really does deserve the award. Smith will probably win the supporters award though!

Congrats. Especially good to see someone come good after an uncertain start at PR. (JET next in that category?).
